Name:  Coreopsis verticillata ‘Zagreb’ aka Zagreb threadleaf coreopsis

Type of Plant: A spreading perennial for full sun that grows about 18” high. Hardy in zones 3-9.

Why I Love This: Zagreb chokes out weeds and is drought tolerant. It spreads but isn’t invasive, and it looks good after it finishes flowering as well. Threadleaf coreopsis is deer resistant, attracts birds and butterflies, and looks great before and after it blooms even if you do nothing to it! This is the definition of low-maintenance as long as this is planted in a place where it can spread.

A Word to the Wise: Don’t plant this in a mixed perennial bed because it’s too aggressive. Do plant this on dry slopes instead of the ubiquitous junipers that don’t out-compete weeds.
