Name: Thymus ‘Doretta Klaber’ aka Doretta Klaber thyme
Type of Plant: Very low ground-cover thyme for full sun
Why I love this: When my garden is on tour this is one of the most asked-about plants. This thyme grows so tightly that the weeds don’t stand a chance. Like other thymes it’s very heat and drought tolerant, and it has a very dark green color that’s a good contrast to other rock-garden and lawn-alternative plants.
A Word to the Wise: Don’t plant thyme where an automatic sprinkler system is going to hit it frequently. These plants like to be dry.
