Want a weekend project that celebrates the fall season? Pile up the pumpkins! There are so many great shapes, colors and sizes of pumpkins and squash available in the fall that it’s easy to make great seasonal decor. Pick out three or more pumpkins of graduated sizes. Look for ones that have kind of flat tops and bottoms so that they will stack without any additional supports. If your pumpkins are round you’ll need to put a pole, dowel, or pipe through them to hold them together. If they are really round and heavy you’ll have to drive that into the ground to hold them all upright. But pumpkins and guards that are flat on the top and bottom will stay secure without any stakes or other supports.
If squirrels are eating your pumpkins, sprinkle hot pepper on them.
